When I walked through the doors of DNA Creative Communications three months ago, I was both excited and terrified. However, it wasn’t long before I grew out of the fear and into the excitement that came with being part of this company for the summer.
DNA welcomed me with open arms, and I knew immediately that this would be more than just your average internship.
Over the past 12 weeks, I’ve spent my time assisting with website development, writing press releases and blog posts, managing DNA’s social media accounts and writing articles for the Shine the Light on Your Nonprofit columns, featured in the Greenville Business and Columbia Business Magazines.
Everything I’ve worked on has given me the opportunity to hone my skills and gain the confidence needed to excel in the world of public relations.
Interning at DNA this summer was one of the most rewarding and educational experiences I’ve ever had. It was very hands-ons, and I couldn’t imagine starting my PR career in any other fashion. The atmosphere at DNA is thriving and nurturing; making each day a fun, new learning experience. As the saying goes, “time flies when you’re having fun.” Those words couldn’t be truer in my case.
It has been an honor learning the ropes of an agency from such a great, talented group of people. I am eternally grateful for everyone at DNA for giving me this opportunity. If there’s one piece of advice I could give to future interns, it’s that your internship will be over before you know it, so take advantage of every moment and make the most of everyday. Also, don’t be afraid to ask questions!
Thank you again DNA for this amazing experience, and for having faith in me!
