I attended the Storytelling Shine the Light session led by Adrienne Burris and the subsequent booster session led by Liza. This was without a doubt the most useful professional development training I went to last year! I went back to my office that day and immediately reworked our stories for our 2018 Impact Report to ensure we were creating dignity, not pity, and showing the power and strength of our clients. Then, only two weeks later, my COO asked me to share what I learned with our staff at our monthly all-staff meeting, I used the slides Adrienne emailed us and pared it down to fit in fifteen minutes of the absolute basics of what we need to work on as an organization. Sending one person to this training turned into impact on our entire 17-person staff! My Community Relations Manager even keeps a printed version of the slides on his wall to refer to when writing our story copy.Alexandra Harris, Homes of Hope
