At DNA, we believe that internships are valuable building blocks for a student’s education and future career. While the classroom lays the offers a strong foundation of knowledge, most students retain the most when learning hands-on, by doing rather than listening or reading. In keeping with this theory, we established the DNA Internship Program to help the next generation of professionals get a head start on their careers.
Each semester, DNA hires interns to expose them to fundamentals of the field and to give them opportunities to work independently on projects from start to finish. Strong guidance and a positive work environment make the DNA Internship Program both a valuable and enjoyable experience. We currently offer internships in public relations and marketing.
If you are interested in interning at DNA, please send us an email with your name and the time when you would like to intern (ex. Summer, Fall or Winter 2010). Please attach your resume and a writing sample.

"Working at DNA was a truly amazing and irreplaceable five month experience. I’ve learned so much with my time at DNA – not just tasks such as press releases, but also bigger picture lessons of responsibility, initiative and growth in more ways than I knew. Seeing the in’s and out’s of every area of a local communications firm has been invaluably educational." "The DNA internship provided me with an opportunity that was broad in terms of the exposure but focused enough that I had my own specialized projects and goals. Because of the "hands-on" nature of this internship, I had the privilege of learning in a way that wouldn't have been possible at larger firms. At the same time, my opinion was always valued, and I felt like an integral member of the office for my entire experience." Graduating from Bates College in May 2008, Chris is now a Market Research Analyst at Affinity Research in New York City. |

"I was lucky enough to spend a year with Debbie Nelson and Associates while I was also interning at the Warehouse Theatre. Having been an arts major in college, I really value working with Debbie and Dana, because it helped me to develop skills in business and interpersonal communication. Since there’s no such thing as job security in the theatre world, actors are constantly meeting new directors and trying to put their best foot forward. I have found a new level of confidence in interviewing with companies, taking on additional responsibilities, and interacting with patrons and producers alike. No matter what your college major, the internship program at DNA is an incredible way to learn new skills and take on new responsibilities." Jackie currently works for Dramatic Solutions, an interactive business theatre that provides corporate diversity/sensitivity training to businesses. |

After graduating in May 2005, Caroline worked with Bechtel Corporation, where she handled Human Resources/Payroll for approximately 100 employees in Atlanta, GA and then in Lafayette, LA.
