Debbie Nelson, principal of DNA Creative Communications, recently attended the 6th European Union (EU) United Nations-Procurement Seminar, held at the United Nations (UN) Headquarters in New York City.

Nelson attended the seminar as a member of INSPIRIT Sustainable Design and Promotion Group, which was established in 2008. INSPIRIT International Communications is a Brussels-based company which specializes in ethical and sustainable design and communications. The company is committed to the most eco-friendly technologies and practices. INSPIRIT is an active member and supporter of a variety of environmental, humanitarian, animal welfare and human rights initiatives. Tuuli Sauren, founder and Creative Director/Manager of INSPIRIT, attended the conference as well. Nelson serves as the PR Specialist for the network of communications professionals.

Designed for new suppliers from EU countries, the conference aimed to instruct European-based companies on how to successfully conduct business with UN organizations. The two-day seminar offered general presentations informing attendees about the various UN organizations and their respective procurement practices; theme-specific workshops for particular industries, conducted by UN-staff; and a networking reception for all EU attendees. UN-buyers and decision makers were also available for one-on-one meetings.
