Background:
Since 1974, the Greenville County Redevelopment Authority (GCRA) has been revitalizing communities throughout the county by building new homes, rehabilitating existing homes and improving the infrastructures within their communities. In 2009, GCRA decided it was time for the agency to undergo its own revitalization and hired DNA to develop and implement the new brand.
Goals:
To provide an updated brand that shows GCRA's comprehensive approach to community revitalization and their mission to improve the lives of Greenville County residents; to launch the brand during the annual National Community Development Week celebration; and to help County residents, the media and potential homeowners have a better understanding of the benefits of GCRA's homeownership opportunities and the other numerous programs that GCRA provides.
DNA Results:
DNA developed a brand that reflects GCRA's mission by featuring a homeowner at the forefront of the visual identity as well as a home and community center. DNA developed supporting materials such as a new website, letterhead package, collateral materials, signage, media kits, invitations, and broadcast, online and radio advertising. DNA also provided event planning and public relations services for the launch event, which included a press conference in GCRA's newest community, Brutontown, during the National Community Development Week celebration. SC Representative Chandra Dillard and County Councilwoman Xanthene Norris assisted the GCRA Board in presenting the new brand. The event drew in local and state legislative delegates, as well as community and business leaders, and area residents. All of Greenville's major media outlets attended the launch which resulted in coverage in all of the Upstate's major publications.
